1899 – Home for the Retired Sisters was established in the former Beaver Mansion, Danville, PA
1913 - Construction begins on the Motherhouse in Wilmette
1914 – 1918 – First World War
1916 – Motherhouse transferred from Wilkes-Barre, PA to Wilmette, IL The new Motherhouse is called Maria Immaculata.
1918 – Mallinckrodt College is established
1919 - Cemetery and small chapel is erected on Motherhouse grounds in Wilmette
1923 - Opening of Mallinckrodt High School
1927 – Due to the number of Sisters in the North American Province, it is decided to divide the Province in two. The land is purchased in Mendham, NJ, and the Cromwell Mansion is used as the Motherhouse of the newly formed Eastern Province. The Motherhouse for the newly formed Western Province remains Maria Immaculata in Wilmette, IL.
1927 - Property purchased in Clarendon Hills, IL for an infirmary (Sacred Heart Convent)
1932 – Sisters move into newly built Motherhouse in Mendham, NJ
1937 – Villa Pauline Ladies Retreat and Guest House opens
1938 - Sisters move into newly-constructed Sacred Heart Convent in Wilmette (Clarendon Hills property becomes Our Lady of Providence Convent)
1939 - Formation of the Mother Pauline League
1941 – The United States enters World War II
1945 – The Allied troops bomb the Motherhouse in Paderborn, Germany
Within months the war comes to an end and packages from the Sisters, the schools, and parishes were sent to help the German people.
1949 - 100th Anniversary of the Congregation
1951 – Sisters enter the healthcare ministry in Williamsport, PA known as Divine Providence Hospital. Today, it is UPMC Williamsport.
1953 – Assumption College for Sisters is founded in Mendham as an extension of Seton HallUniversity and in 1961 was incorporated as an indepen dent college. Today ACS resides
in Denville and is open to religious women from around the globe seeking a two-year liberal arts degree.
1957 - Work with the deaf begins at Holy Trinity and St. Gregory Schools i in Chicago
1959 - Classes for the blind begin at St. Raphael School, Chicago
1959 - New Josephinum High School building opens
1960 - Mallinckrodt High School closes
1962 - Property purchased in Folsom, LA for Aspirancy (Marywood)
1963 – Holy Spirit Hospital opens in Camp Hill, PA, today it is known as Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center
1968 - 1974 - Southern Region
1968 - Ronald Knox Montessori School is built behind the Motherhouse; classes move into the new building
1970 – Present – Expansion of ministries beyond education and healthcare to include parish ministry, social work, spiritual direction, diocesan- level administrative positions, retreat work, and continue to remain open to the needs of the Church
1971 - SCC medal is created
1972 - Eleven acres (the woods) of Wilmette Motherhouse property is sold
1972 - St. Ann's Academy and (former first Motherhouse in North America) is razed
1973 - 30 Sisters leave the Eastern Province to form the Emmaus Community
1975 - 90 Sisters withdraw from the province. Sisters of the Living Word is established
1980 – St. Anthony Soup Kitchen opens in Williamsport, PA
1985 – Beatification of Pauline Von Mallinckrodt
1988 - Lay Associate (Companions of Pauline) is instituted in Wilmette
1990s – Quellen Retreat Center is opened in the Motherhouse in Mendham
1991 – Mallinckrodt College becomes a campus of Loyola University Chicago
1992 - First issue of Bread Broken is published
1994 – Lay Associates (Companions of Pauline) is instituted in Mendham
1995 – Opening of the Philippine Mission for the Blind in Quezon City
1995 – A Norway Spruce Tree from the Motherhouse in Mendham is transported to Rockefeller Center, NYC, and Sisters attend a Lighting Ceremony in Rockefeller Center in NYC
1999 - Loyola University Chicago purchases Motherhouse in Wilmette
1999 - New Province Center building is completed
2002 - The Wilmette Park District board approves an agreement to buy the 17-acre Mallinckrodt campus from Loyola University (now Mallinckrodt Park)
2004 - A sales agreement was transferring ownership of the Motherhouse building from the Park District to a developer who planned to convert the building into condos for seniors.
2005 - Hurricane Katrina hits New Orleans – Bethany Convent is destroyed
2012 – Opening of the co-sponsored work Nativity Miguel School in Scranton, PA
2012 – Hurricane Sandy hits New Jersey – the Motherhouse in Mendham opens as a shelter for many people in the area.
2013 - July – the term “region” is given to the Western Unit
2018 - Opening of the new Motherhouse in Mendham - The Sisters in Mendham move into the new building as well as the elderly and infirm Sisters from Danville, PA
2018 -2019 – Quellen Spiritual Center and Villa Pauline Retreat House merge and become Villa Pauline Retreat and Spiritual Center
2019 – Eastern Province and Western Region unanimously decide at the 2019 Chapter to move toward communion
2019 – Opening of the Justice and Peace Office
2020 – Covid Pandemic
2021 – International House of Discernment opens in Resurrection Convent, Chicago, IL
2023 November 4 – the creation of the North American Province
2024 – 175th Anniversary of the Congregation
