Sister Camilla Springman (Audrey) entered eternal life on Wednesday, February 12, 2019 at the Motherhouse in Mendham, New Jersey. Sister Camilla was 83 years old. Born in Muncy, PA on August 9, 1936, Sister Camilla was the daughter of Harry and Edna (Itterly) Springman.
Sister entered the congregation of the Sisters of Christian Charity on September 6, 1964. She made her First Vows on August 21, 1967 and her Final Profession of Vows on August 15, 1974.
After receiving the Catholic Hospital Association for Food Service Directors Certificate in June 1974, Sister Camilla served the community as a homemaker in the Motherhouse, and convents in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Of note, Sister also ministered in the Generalate of the Congregation in Rome, and in the Diocese of Harrisburg Bishop’s Residence. She resided and served at Holy Family Convent, Danville, PA from 2005 until she moved to the new Motherhouse, Mendham, NJ in 2018.
Sister Camilla is survived by the Sisters of Christian Charity and her niece, Laverna Hurne of South Williamsport, PA.
Viewing at the Motherhouse will be on Friday, February 14, from 2:00- 4:00 PM. Evening Prayer is at 7:00 PM.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 15, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Mary Immaculate, Motherhouse, 350 Bernardsville, Road, Mendham, NJ, followed by internment in Holy Cross Cemetery on the Motherhouse property.
