Sister of Christian Charity Bernadette Voss died on November 19, 2022 at Sacred Heart Convent,
Wilmette, Illinois.
Virginia Voss was born on September 1, 1941 at Evanston, IL. She entered the Congregation on
June 27, 1960 and was received into the novitiate on August 21, 1961. Sister made her first vows on August 21, 1963 and pronounced her final vows on August 15, 1969.
Sister Bernadette served as portress in the motherhouse in Wilmette, IL; and as homemaker at St. Raphael Convent in Chicago; Notre Dame Convent in Clarendon Hills and Sacred Heart Convent in Wilmette.
From 1980-1995 Sister Bernadette ministered in St. Louis, Missouri.
In 1996 Sister Bernadette moved to Josephinum Convent in Chicago, where she helped with ministry to the poor and taught CCD. After three years in Tucson, AZ, she returned to Josephinum. From 2003 until 2008 Sister served in Pastoral Ministry, Religious Education in the parish, Eucharistic Minister at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
In 2009 Sister suffered a stroke; she moved to Sacred Heart Convent where she embarked on her ministry of prayer and presence. She was a joyful person; her qualities of acceptance and a non-complaining attitude were edifying to all who encountered her.
