Sister Anna Ballak, Sister of Christian Charity, entered eternal life on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 at the Motherhouse, Mendham, New Jersey. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 11,1924 Sister Anna was the daughter of Anna (Subec) and Michael Ballak.
Sister entered the community of the Sisters of Christian Charity on September 1, 1940.
She professed her First Vows on August 21, 1943 and her Final Vows on August 20,1949.
Sister’s entire ministry was as an elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida and North Carolina. She also was a volunteer in the Education Department at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. After many years in our retirement convent in Danville, Pennsylvania, she began her residence in the Motherhouse in Mendham in 2018.
Sister Anna is survived by the Sisters of Christian Charity, two nephews and a niece.
Private Evening Prayer with the Motherhouse community will be prayed for Sister Anna with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendham. A Memorial Mass for Sister will be celebrated at a later date.
