The Sisters of Christian Charity are blessed to have a wonderful group of faithful donors. They appreciate the love and generosity they receive from each of you throughout the year and pray for blessings upon you and your families. Angelo Del Russo is one of the wonderful donors we would like to highlight and share what inspires his charitable contributions to the SCC community.
Religious teachers have played a role in Angelo’s life since his elementary school days under the direction of the religious order of St. Lucy Filippini. He was born and raised in Newark, NJ where he attended St. Francis Xavier School and Essex Catholic High School. He then went on to attend NCE/NJIT in Newark studying Civil Engineering Technology. He started Del Sano Contracting Corporation in 1975 which was the building company used to construct the new Motherhouse in Mendham, NJ. The Motherhouse build was a complicated and intense project that Angelo was happy to take on in order to provide the Sisters with an updated and safe place to reside. He very much enjoyed his dealings with the Sisters in charge of the project; Sr. Teresa Ann Jacobs and Sr. Mary Edward, and respected their concern for quality and fairness on behalf of their community. He was very moved by the dedication liturgy at the completion of the project, as he felt the unity amongst everyone involved. The Del Sano Contracting team was extremely dedicated to the project from groundbreaking to ribbon cutting, and Angelo periodically stops by to check in on the finished product.
Anglo’s first memorable interaction with the Sisters of Christian Charity was with Sr. Joseph Spring, SCC former principal of St. Joseph School in Mendham, where his two daughters, Dawn and Denise, attended elementary school. He was enticed to give charitably to the Sisters because he recognized that they are “selfless in their contribution to the betterment of our children and all of those in need around the world.” He believes that the Sisters deserve a quiet and enjoyable environment to live in and understands that they require the same technology we all enjoy to effectively correspond with their friends, family, and counterparts throughout the world. He believes that through his giving he is helping a community that supports teaching and caring for those that need it most, helping to teach and guide them to become prosperous citizens. Angelo resides in Morris County, NJ. He enjoys spending time with his family, Beth, Dawn, Denise, Michael, and grandchildren Eliana Rose and Analise Evelina.
